Lakeland is the Spring home of the Detroit Tigers Baseball team and occasional host to the Tampa Bay Lightening ice hockey.Travel a little out of town and there are the Lightening regular home venue, Tampa Bay Devil Rays for baseball, Tampa Bay Bucs football or the Orlando Magic basketball teams.
For the more active, golf swimming and tennis are the main participant sports and are all available on site.
At a more leisurely pace shuffleboard is also included and 10 pin bowling a short drive away.
