GOLF AND COUNTRY CLUB IN CENTRAL FLORIDA
Green fees vary greatly throughout the year but average between $20 and $40 for 18 holes inclusive of Cart hire. Most feature many water and sand hazards, generous fairways and large undulating greens.
A short journey out of Lakeland and the choice of course widens considerably to include such gems as the renowned GRENELEFE, DIAMONDBACK and SOUTHERN DUNES at Haines City or the USPGA qualifier course BLOOMINGDALE.

18th Hole at Diamondback
All courses in the area are abundant with wildlife. Look out for the alligators, turtles, racoons, snakes and literally hundreds of variety of birds including
Heron, crane, egret, ibis, vulture, osprey and eagle.
Always well maintained, parts of the course are conservation area. The back nine is comfortable but still interesting to all levels of handicap. The front nine is a serius challenge to anyone, in particular the signature hole #3 pictured above.
Always a delight to play at around $30.18 hole, par 72 opened in 1992. Huntingdon Hills is set in beautiful undulating countryside off Duff road.
SCHALAMAR CREEK
With plenty of trees and water to negotiate you need to keep the ball straight. If you stray beware of the native wildlife (see picture below).
They are pretty friendly really as are their human counterparts in the Pro shop and Clubhouse.
This course is a little gem especially to those not used to the Florida wildlife and definitely worth the green fee of about $25.

18 Hole par 72 though plays a little shorter. What this course lacks in length it more than makes up for with Mother Nature!

EAGLEBROOK
18 Hole par72 opened in 1997, this challenging course has already hosted many prestigous events for Professionals and amateurs and is now home to the US LPGA Futures tour.
Eaglebrook is destined to be amongst Central Florida's finest.
With large sand and water hazards and quick undulating greens playing this course to handicap is a definite achievement! A choice of 6 tee boxes does help, just bite off as much as you dare and enjoy it for $40.
Always a pleasaure to play the environment does encourage a varied selction of birds. a bargain at around $20, which can often be bettered with vouchers in the local newspaper 'The Ledger'.
18 Hole par 70 Sandpiper is designed on the lines of a Scottish links course.
